- The Nicodemus Wilderness Project was founded because of the need for environmental restoration, stewardship, and protection of neglected public lands.This organization coordinates volunteer events worldwide that utilize the resources of the community to provide long term environmental benefits for natural areas.
Wildlife Conservation Society
- The Wildlife Conservation Society, founded in 1895, has the clear mission to save wildlife and wild places across the globe.Today, they protect many of the world’s iconic creatures here and abroad, including gorillas in the Congo, tigers in India, wolverines in the Yellowstone Rockies, and ocean giants in our world’s amazing seascapes.
Amazon Watch
- Amazon Watch is a nonprofit organization founded in 1996 to protect the rainforest and advance the rights of indigenous peoples in the Amazon Basin. They partner with indigenous and environmental organizations in campaigns for human rights, corporate accountability and the preservation of the Amazon's ecological systems.
- This organization defends the rights of indigenous people and communities faced with industrial development.
Conservation International
- Conservation International (CI) works to ensure a healthy and productive planet for us all. CI is working at every level to help move whole societies toward a smarter development path.
- Through science, policy and field work, they are applying smart solutions to protect the resources that we all depend on. They help communities, countries and societies protect tropical forests, lush grasslands, rivers, wetlands, abundant lakes and the sea. Only through properly valuing the essential services these ecosystems provide can they create a sustainable development path that will benefit all people for generations to come.
World Wildlife Fund for Nature
- WWF has been working to protect forests for more than 50 years. With a focus on protected areas management and sustainable forestry, WWF works with governments, companies, communities and other stakeholders to promote certification for responsible forest management practices, combat illegal logging, reform trade policies and protect forested areas.
Rainforest Action Network (RAN)
